Adwaita OS X by kxmylo Adwaita OS X by kxmylo
A Mac OS X theme for gtk. It works perfect with gnome and elementary apps.
Dark theme included.

GTK 3.10 and GTK 3.12

updates:
3-03-2014
fixed a bunch of small bugs, added new gtkpopover styling and budgie-panel as well, reviewed the tabs and in general it all looks much better and i believe bug free.

20-05-2014
BIG UPDATE
now the buttons are drawn within the gtk theme itself and not depending on the icon set, a lot of bug fixes on gtk 3.12 and added the new widgets. And a bunch of stuff i don't remember anymore.

REUPLOADED

Very very very cool :)

I'm on gnome ubuntu 14.10 with gnome 3.14, but applying the GTK and window them leave the close, maximize and minimize buttons on the right. Moreover on Nautils for example, buttons are style un cross, a square and a dash :(

How can i fix this ?

set the button layout properly from dconf-editor
it should be
close,minimize,maximize:menu(optional)

INSTRUCTIONS: Open terminal, type: ls -a [enter]. Can you see a .themes folder? Chances are you don't have it. Create your .themes folder by typing: mkdir ~/.themes [enter]. Next, assuming you downloaded the theme zip file into your default Downloads folder, unzip the theme zip file by typing: unzip Downloads/<filename>.zip -d ~/.themes [enter]. That's it. Now run Unity Tweak Tool and check in Themes. Hope that helps.

First, I would like to thank you for your theme, it's very well made.

However, I am having an issue; in any application that uses the GTK headerbar (like nautilus), the colored buttons do not appear. It appears you fixed this issue in your 20-05-2014 update, but the downloadable verison does not work for me. I am using the following:
- Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 LTS
- GTK 3.12 (from Gnome3-team ppa)
- GTK 3.12 applications like nautilus

By the way, what browser are you using in the picture? Is it epiphany?

At first kxmylo, thank you for great work. Theme looks fantastic.

I've seen in few your works that you are using ubuntu 1404 with pantheon-shell and gnome 3.11.9.

I suppose all will be thankful if you could briefly explain how to install/build it.

Waiting for future works.
Best.

I think kxmylo uses a private .bzr repo.
It would be great to have a public repo, so everyone can contribute bugfixes. And versioning would be much easier than on DA.

Tested on ArchLinux with Gnome-Shell 3.12, same result as Gurqn

I don't have the (close, max., min.) in the correct style, are you using Elementary-OS packages?

nope... there's not even a beta available. But some people can live with lot of bugs and a unstable system, because, you know, it's the distro with best design out there.

I have tested that on gnome 3.12 with fedora. There is background color differences between top bar and main background in dark theme. it's specially designed in that way or problem in gtk 3.12 ?

I kxmylo, nice work and excelent theme.
I do have a question, in the picture, nautilus as on the top left the minimize, maximize, close buttons.
But in my Gnome GTK 3.10 it does not.
What is very strange is, when I open nautilus with root previligies the buttons are there.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

And keep up the good work.

Cheers from Portugal.

you need to put the theme in the folder /usr/share/themes in order to work right

Hi kxmylo, I allways put my themes with the appropriated permisions on /usr/share/themes.
I discover (after some time searching!) that there is a hard coded button layout on gnome apps (like nautilus, music, weather, maps) in both 3.10 and 3.12.
So, there is only the close (x) button on this apps, and on the right side of the window.
In superuser/root mode, nautilus does show all the buttons and on the left side.
But that appens because with root previligies you are able to bypass the harcoded theme/button layout.
I research a "cure" for this, with no "joy", so if you find a way to force aply the button layout on gnome apps in normal user mode, please add that feature to the theme.
Because you use Elementary, I don't know if you have the chance to try it out on Gnome Shell and see if you can find out how to change this hard coded behaviour.
If you do, it will be much appreciated!
Cheers from Portugal.
